Summary: Code of Criminal Procedure - 4th Edition (In 2 Volumes) by Sanjiva Row & M L Singhal The book under revision is a work of celebrated author, Mr. Sanjeeva Rao. The previous edition of the book which was the third edition was brought in the year 1988 and since then a lot of case law (from both the Apex Court as well as the High Courts) has emerged. Similar is the case with the statutory law as several amendments have been incorporated in to the Code in the interregnum between the previous and the present edition. A standard book on a subject is supposed to be easy and useable. With this object in mind, it is being presented in two volumes though the previous one was in a single volume. All attempts have been made to keep the book thorough and exhaustive, the basic principles of the procedural criminal law have been explained and are well supported by relevant case law. All caution has been taken to make this work comprehensive and up to date.
