Summary: In this twin-volume collection, South Asian scholars analyse the problems of conflict resolution and cooperation-building in the region from the perspective of international relations theory and related social science theorizing. The essays cover diverse areas such as security, political economy, and regional cooperation in an interrelated manner at two levels of analysis-foreign policy and domestic politics. The second volume addresses three interrelated areas-security; political economy and domestic politics; and the construction of identities, images, norms, and world-views. Combining theory with fieldwork, it presents a comprehensive picture of international relations in South Asia. The contributors examine issues such as nuclear deterrence stability and the possibility of economic cooperation; determinants of post-Cold War US policy in the region; relationship between national interest, domestic politics, and foreign policy; India-Pakistan trade relations; and diasporas and their response to conflict in the region, among others. The first volume looks at the creation of possible regional architectures; the political economy of trade and economic integration; and the effect of domestic political issues on foreign policy. Contributors Mohammed Ayoob • Rajesh M. Basrur • Shibashis Chatterjee • Sanjay Chaturvedi • Siddharth Mallavarapu • Asad Sayeed • E. Sridharan • K.P. Vijayalakshmi • Mohammad Waseem • S. Akbar Zaidi
