The contents of the book are organized in 2 major Sections, and further broken into 18 Chapters. The first Section, i.e., “Sports Injuries” contains 9 Chapters covering various aspects of sports injuries ie, causes, categories, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.. The Second section i.e.,. “Therapeutic Modalities” is also broken down into 9 Chapters, and covers most commonly used therapeutic modalities in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Their rationale for use, effects produced, and therapeutic indications, uses, contraindications, and technique of application are described in great details. From use of a very basic modality ie., ice to the advanced modality like laser therapy have all been appropriately covered in the text. The book is comprehensive, well illustrated, and written in a simple language and it is hoped that it will prove to be a useful textbook as well as a reference book to the students, and teachers of physiotherapy, physical education (B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed.)& coaching, as well as to all those professionals who are concerned with the care of the sports persons, in one or the other way.
