Forensic sciences have reached a stage of scientific maturation at which it is altogether appropriate to introduce this new series, Advances in Forensic Science conceived as a Forensic Science parallel to "advances" series in other scientific fields and disciplines these volumes will appear annually, each being devoted to one of the special areas of forensic Science. Forensic serology, an area that has been particularly rapid progress and new developments, in the past few decades. The chapter that follows cover a wide spectrum of the forensic serology field including the identification of blood from particular sources, identification of semen, ABO grouping of body fluids, ABH antigens in infra-human species, serum protein grouping by isoelectric focusing, crime scene investigation and pattern evidence. The intent of this is to provide current reviews of representative subjects within the forensic specially being covered by experts from all over the world.
