Summary: This is the twenty fifth edition of Bhartiy Fojdari Dharo(THE INDIAN PENAL CODE). The roots of the company go back almost a century to 1923 when the visionary founder of our company, Mr.Jamnadas Shah started retailing small books. It is the story of a small book-shop owner in Bombay, an industrious young man who used to sell books as a door-to-door salesman in the pre independence days. He would fill his handbag with books and move around from house to house in the posh locality of Santa Cruz in Bombay. Evenings would find him back at his shop in Princess Street. His was a legacy of hard work and determination, and he and believed that quality sells for itself. What held true for him more than 90 years ago, still holds true for us today-that a book well made and of high quality will find its own readers.Today, while that shop in Princess Street at Bombay still exists, and while we are now a major presence in even the smallest town in Gujarat and Maharashtra, we are still proud of the legacy given to us by our Founder'-Jamnadas L Shah- popularly known in his days as "JamnadaSheth".The story took a fresh turn in the year 1960, when his son Rashmikant took off for Gujarat, leaving his native Bombay in search of greater challenges after the separation of Bombay State. Not so much a chip off the old block as a Doyen himself, Mr. Rashmikant has single handedly built up an unparalleled publishing infrastructure over the decades.Beginning with our first publication in 1930: A book of essays in Gujarati; the Jamnadas Group of Companies has since gone on to become the leading publishers of educational books and magazines throughout Gujarat. Today we have a dealer network of over two thousand dealers with access to even the remotest village in Gujarat more than a thousand publications under our belt, and with more than ten million students having read our publications
