This thin 35 page book is an extract from the gazetteer of the Bombay Presidency and gives short description of the events and people. This is a historical sketch of the southern Marattha country (then known as Bombay-Karnataka), including Belgam, Dharwar and Bijapur, from the muslim conquest till the area became British territory. The time span is between 1300 and 1818 AD. This book is a reprint of the 1896 edition.
