Summary: In recent times political and social leaders, public servants and academics in world over have been concerned with the question of what is the actual meaning of "human Rights" and how we can protect them with reference to law and order? The forces of globalization, liberalization and the revolution in information technology have shattered many a myth hitherto held sacrosanct. Many complex environmental and global problems and pressures of exploitation of human rights are further accentuated in a developing, multi-linguistic, and a multi-cultural country like: United States, Germany, France, etc. In the light of these new perspectives, the present book attempts to discuss some of the critical emerging concerns of different countries and the 21st century challenges to social system of different parts of world. All these issues have been critically examined both from historical perspective and in-depth analysis of the various parameters involved with some fresh thinking and insights, with a view to offer some constructive suggestions to resolve some of the inherent problems in the different parts of the society. The book would be found immensely useful both by the students and practitioners of Human Rights and Gender Violence, and would serve as a reference book to encourage further debate and discussions amongst the academics, intellectuals and policy-makers in India and abroad.
