The rapid materialistic growth and technological development in our country has thrown up a wide range of job opportunities to our youth. It has also exposed them to a variety of scientific gadgets and the latest means of communication. On the downside, however, today's youth lack exposure to our basic value systems and moral codes. They also lack sufficient awareness about the Armed Forces. The Armed Forces, and their elite office cadre in particular, have traditionally displayed the highest degree of personal qualities and values. However, over time, there has been a degeneration of personal values in the outside world. This has had a negative influence on our youth, which in turn could adversely affect the overall character development of young officers in the Armed Forces. In view of this, 'Role Model' aims to highlight and showcase the importance of character in the personality development of our young men and particularly those in the Armed Forces. The men in uniform are always expected to be role models to the outside world.
